Association of Sussex Philatelic Societies

Supporting the philatelic community of Sussex

About ASPS

The Association of Sussex Philatelic Societies (ASPS)was founded in 1947. Its original aims and objectives have remained largely unchanged, with today's Association facilitating the coming together of Sussex societies, advising and assisting societies if desired, making available a list of known collectors willing to give lectures and displays, promoting exhibitions and arranging philatelic workshops.

Council meetings attended by Association Officers and delegates from all affiliated societies are held twice a year to discuss matters of common interest whilst the Executive Committee, consisting of the Association's officers plus four members elected annually at the Annual General Meeting meet more frequently to undertake the day-to-day running of the Association.

ASPS News is published twice-yearly. the content of which includes reports of society meetings and a composite calendar of all affiliated society meetings where a visiting speaker is in attendance.

Annual competitions are held, both individual and inter-society, in the main philatelic classes and including a postcard class.

An ASPS Convention is held annually in October at the South of England Showground, Ardingly, at which the AGM takes place, competition entries are displayed and stamp & postcard dealers are in attendance.
